KAZ Minerals is committed to ensuring that employees continue their professional development, with the aim of increasing productivity, efficiency and safety. The Group takes a long-term view of building capabilities and leadership qualities amongst its staff, which is viewed as critical to its growth strategy.

In 2023, employees each received an average of 63 hours of training (2022: 61 hours), which typically consisted of 42 hours of safety training, 17 hours of professional education and four hours of additional education. In addition, operational training includes a significant safety and health component that is not recorded separately as safety and health training. Topics include the safe operation of machinery and vehicles, electrical and fire safety, labour protection training, physical fitness and professional development.
