Alun Bowen

Experience

Alun’s 37-year career at KPMG, as an auditor and advisor, spanned London, Sydney, Cardiff, Hong Kong and Almaty. His roles included Senior Partner of KPMG Wales, leader of KPMG’s Global Sustainability Practice and Managing Partner of KPMG Kazakhstan and Central Asia.

Alun served as a non-executive director and Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee of Transport for Wales until December 2025, and was a member of its Major Projects Committee. Until 2 March 2022, Alun was Chair of the Audit Committee of Severstal, one of Russia’s largest fully integrated steel producers.

He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds a degree in Metallurgy and Material Science from Trinity College, Cambridge.

In addition to his role as a Supervisory Board member of the Group, Alun is also the Chair of the Audit Committee and a member of Health, Safety and Sustainability Committee.
